How many days do you need in Honduras?+
7–10 days — 3–4 days on Roatán (diving and relaxing) plus 2 days at Copán (the Maya ruins) plus 1–2 days in Tegucigalpa, or 1–2 days at Pico Bonito.

The lempira (HNL) is the main currency. Roatán takes US dollars at some places, but changing to lempiras is recommended for general use and a better rate.

- Utila is much cheaper than Roatán, ideal for budget travelers who want to dive.
- At Copán, go early before 9 am to avoid the afternoon sun and crowds.
- Bottled water everywhere — avoid tap water directly.
- Power plug Type A/B 120V — Thai 220V devices need a transformer.
- Storm season is Sep–Oct — avoid it, or buy travel insurance that covers storms.
