Where to stay in Victoria Falls — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
Victoria Falls is the town beside the largest sheet of falling water on Earth — a curtain of the Zambezi 1,708m wide and 108m high that locals call Mosi-oa-Tunya, ‘the smoke that thunders’, audible kilometres away. The town itself is small and walkable, with stays for every budget from backpacker hostels to luxury lodges on the Zambezi riverfront. It’s also southern Africa’s adventure capital: sunset cruises, world-class white-water rafting, a 111m bridge bungee, and elephant safaris on the town’s doorstep.

Licensed taxis and hotel shuttles are available; agree the fare first, and pre-book for trips outside town.
Pay in US dollars
USD is the everyday currency — carry small $1, $5 and $10 notes, avoid $100 bills, and don't rely on ATMs.

How many days do I need in Victoria Falls?+
At least 2-3 days — one for the falls walk, one for a sunset cruise or an adrenaline activity, and a spare day for a safari or a hop across to the Zambia side.
Zimbabwe side or Zambia side?+
The Zimbabwe side (Victoria Falls town) shows about 75% of the falls' face across 16 viewpoints — the widest views. The Zambia side (Livingstone) gets you to the edge and to Devil's Pool. Many visitors do both with a KAZA visa.
When are the falls at their best?+
Peak flow is Feb-May with a full curtain and heavy spray (which can obscure the view). From Aug-Jan the water drops, exposing the cliff face — best for rafting and swimming Devil's Pool on the Zambia side.
