Where to stay in Dubai — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
Dubai is the city that does everything bigger and more lavish than anywhere else on earth — the 828m Burj Khalifa, the world's largest mall, the palm-shaped island of Palm Jumeirah, dancing fountains, and desert safaris bashing over golden dunes. Yet it also keeps an older soul in Al Fahidi, where wind-tower houses, gold souks and abra boats line Dubai Creek. Getting around is easy on the driverless Metro — just tap a Nol card and go.

Which area should first-timers stay in Dubai?+
Downtown Dubai is ideal — next to Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Fountain, with its own Metro station. For the beach, choose JBR or Dubai Marina; for budget stays and Old Dubai character, base yourself in Deira or Bur Dubai.
When is the best time to visit Dubai?+
November to March is best, with pleasant 17–30°C days perfect for outdoor sightseeing and desert safaris. Summer (June–August) tops 40°C, so avoid midday outdoor activities.
What are the rules on alcohol and dress code in Dubai?+
Alcohol is served only at licensed venues (hotels, bars, beach clubs) to those 21 and over, and public intoxication is illegal. Dress modestly in public — cover shoulders and knees — and keep swimwear to beaches and pools. The currency is the dirham (AED, pegged at 3.67 to the US dollar).
