Where to stay in Mürren — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
Mürren is one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, perched on a cliff 1,650 metres above the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is a car-free village reachable only by cable car and mountain railway, so it is quiet and the air is pure. Its highlight is the view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks lined up right in front with nothing in the way, and it is the launch point for the Schilthorn summit with its revolving Piz Gloria restaurant, a James Bond film location.

Mürren or Wengen — where should I stay?+
Mürren is on the western side of the valley, known for the three-peak view right in front and access to the Schilthorn, while Wengen is on the eastern side, closer to Jungfraujoch and Kleine Scheidegg. Both are car-free and quiet.
How do you get up to Mürren if it is car-free?+
Park at Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen, then take the cable car, or the cable car connecting to a mountain train via Grütschalp. There is a luggage transport service to help.
Is the Schilthorn worth it?+
Very much so on a clear day — you get views of more than 200 peaks, the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant, and the glass Thrill Walk at Birg on the way. Check the weather forecast before going up.
