Grenada — find the right stay, from deciding to booking
“The Spice Isle, white-sand beaches, an underwater sculpture park, and Caribbean chocolate”
Grenada is the Caribbean gem that has kept its freshness and authenticity more than most — a small island fragrant with nutmeg and cinnamon, the fine 3-kilometer white sands of Grand Anse, an underwater sculpture park unlike anywhere else in the world, the port capital of St George's with its colorful horseshoe harbor, colonial-era forts, rainforest and waterfalls, craft chocolate and local rum — perfect for those who want a Caribbean that isn't just mass-market resorts.

Tips before you go to Grenada
- Buy fresh nutmeg and spices at the St George's market — the cheapest and best quality.
- Book an underwater sculpture park dive through a local dive shop — Eco Dive and Aquanauts are well known.
- Drive on the left in a rental car — the roads are winding and narrow, so be careful and drive slowly.
- A tip of about 10% is good manners at restaurants, but not mandatory.
- Try Rivers Rum at the distillery in St Patrick — distilled with an old water wheel, very different from regular rum.
- Hurricane season (Jun–Nov) may bring storms, but Grenada lies outside the main storm track, so the risk is lower than other islands.
