Where to stay in Grand Anse — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
If there's one beach in Grenada you can't skip, it's Grand Anse — a glorious two-mile (roughly 3 km) crescent of soft white sand on the island's southwest coast, just about 6 km south of the capital, St. George's. The bay shelters it from big waves and wind, which is why both visitors and locals call it the island's favourite beach. The strip is lined with beachfront resorts, beach bars, and seafood restaurants, with snorkelling spots close by and what many call the best fiery-orange sunsets in the Caribbean. Grenada is nicknamed the "Spice Isle" — it grows nutmeg and cloves for export worldwide — so beyond the postcard beach, you'll taste and smell spice in nearly every meal.
Why stay in Grand Anse
A world-ranked beach
Two miles of soft white sand and calm, clear water shielded by the bay. Repeatedly voted among the Caribbean's best beaches, it's free and open to all — you don't need to be a resort guest to dip in.
World's first underwater museum
The Underwater Sculpture Park in nearby Molinere Bay, created in 2006 by Jason deCaires Taylor, lets you snorkel or dive among submerged statues that have become a living artificial reef. It's a 10-15 minute boat ride from the beach.
Spice Isle flavours
Nutmeg is grated over everything from rum punch to ice cream. Try oil down (the national dish), roti, and callaloo soup at beach shacks and in town — Grenada is one of the world's top nutmeg producers.
Legendary sunsets
The west-facing beach is the island's prime sunset spot. Nurse a cocktail at a beach bar as the sky turns orange and red — the laid-back "lime" (Grenadian beach party) atmosphere is the real draw.

EC$ & drive on the left
The currency is the East Caribbean Dollar (EC$/XCD), pegged at about 2.70 to US$1. Larger shops and resorts take USD and cards. Grenada drives on the left.
