Cyprus — find the right stay, from deciding to booking
“Aphrodite's Rock, Roman mosaics, the last divided capital, and the deep-blue Mediterranean”
Cyprus is a sun-drenched island combining world-class archaeology, clear seas, and a blend of Greek-Cypriot culture — Nicosia's Venetian walls, the last divided capital; the World Heritage Roman mosaics at Paphos; Aphrodite's Rock by the sea; the beaches of Ayia Napa; the villages of the Troodos Mountains; and the world-famous halloumi cheese.

Roman floor mosaics from the 2nd–4th centuries AD, so vivid and crisp it's hard to believe they're 1,800 years old.
Aphrodite's Rock
Petra tou Romiou, sea rocks by the roadside where legend says the goddess of love rose from the waters.
Nicosia, the divided capital
Venetian walls ring the old town, with the UN buffer zone and Ledra Street that unites both sides.
World-class beaches
Fig Tree Bay and Ayia Napa, with white sand and clear water, awarded Blue Flags for many years running.
Troodos Mountains and villages
Pine forests, World Heritage Byzantine churches, the village of Kakopetria, and Omodos wine country.
Authentic Cypriot food
Grilled halloumi, multi-dish meze, souvlaki, and Commandaria wine, the oldest named wine still made.

How many days should I spend in Cyprus?+
5–7 days — 2 days in Paphos (mosaics-Aphrodite's Rock) + 1–2 days Limassol + 1–2 days Ayia Napa + half a day in Nicosia. With time, add a day in Troodos.
Do Thai travelers need a visa?+
Yes, Thais need a visa — Cyprus accepts the Schengen visa, or apply for a Cyprus visa in advance. Check the latest conditions.
Is driving in Cyprus difficult?+
Cyprus drives on the left (a British legacy) with the steering wheel on the right; most travelers adapt quickly with care. Roads are good, signs are in English, and car rental is very convenient.
How is Cyprus different from Greece?+
Cyprus is a medium-sized island, drives on the left, uses British plugs, has intense archaeology, and a unique UN buffer zone. Greece has hundreds of islands, with similar costs.
Tips before you go to Cyprus
- Cyprus drives on the left — double-check before setting off.
- Renting a car is the best value for exploring the island; buses aren't convenient between cities.
- Real halloumi should be bought from local markets, not European supermarkets.
- July–August are scorching and crowded — go to the beach early.
- A Schengen visa can be used to enter Cyprus, but Cyprus isn't yet a full Schengen member.
- The morning markets in Nicosia and Limassol open early — great for fresh produce and local food at good prices.
