Before You Pack

Vancouver is the best city in Canada for travelers who want nature, culture and convenience all at once. Plan at least 4-5 days to take in every highlight without rushing.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to visit Vancouver?
The best stretch is June-September — warm weather of 18-25 degrees, little rain, ideal for walking around outdoors at Stanley Park and the beaches. In winter (December-February) snow falls on Grouse Mountain and you can ski, but the city is damp and it rains often.
How many days do you need in Vancouver?
We recommend 4-5 days for the main highlights. Days 1-2 for Stanley Park, Gastown and Canada Place; day 3 for Capilano Bridge plus Grouse Mountain; day 4 for Granville Island plus Science World. If you have more time you can continue on to Victoria or Whistler by ferry or coach tour.
Should you buy a Vancouver CityPASS?
The Vancouver CityPASS is very good value if you plan to visit several places. It includes Capilano Suspension Bridge, FlyOver Canada, Vancouver Aquarium and other attractions, and can save up to 40% compared with buying single tickets. We recommend buying online before you travel.
