Away Spa has a couples room with two treatment beds side by side and a soaking tub, and a 120-minute Couples Getaway package of oil massage and body scrub — not as deep as the ESPA spa at Mandarin Oriental, but plenty for a relaxing night.

W Taipei sits in central Xinyi, a 2-minute walk from MRT Taipei City Hall, and from the door you can reach Taipei 101 in about 9 minutes on foot — or one MRT stop — along with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Bellavita. It is a base where the dinner-and-shopping dates never really stop.

Things to know before booking

The lobby and bars can get loud on weekends, so this is not the pick if you want the quietest possible honeymoon — request a high floor away from the pool and bars. The whole feel is trendy and party-leaning rather than soft romantic, which suits some couples and not others. And the window-side bathtub only comes on the suite tiers above, not in every room, so book the right category.
