In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The Mira sits right on Nathan Road in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui, next to Kowloon Park — a location that's hard to find in Hong Kong. Walk into the lobby and you meet Colin Finnegan's design straight away, bright colour set against a modern look. There are about 492 rooms sorted into 4 colour themes, so you can pick a warmer tone if that's your thing. Every room has automated controls, a 42-inch LED TV and a minimalist bathroom. This is a hotel with a clear personality — not your standard 5-star.
Food and amenities
The one our team keeps going on about is MiraSpa, a 6,000 sq ft spa with a heated indoor pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna — a good deal bigger than the spa at most 5-star hotels. There's also MiraFitness, open 24 hours with Technogym kit. On the food side you've got Cuisine Cuisine, a Michelin-rated Cantonese room, the Yamm international buffet, and Vibes, an open-air bar. Wi-Fi is free and you get a free handy smartphone for the length of your stay, plus a concierge and in-house valet parking.
Location and getting there
The address puts you on Nathan Road and right beside Kowloon Park — cross over in the morning and you can watch the flamingo pond. It's about a 3-minute walk to MRT Tsim Sha Tsui, roughly 10 minutes to the Avenue of Stars and around 11 to 12 minutes to the Star Ferry, so you're on the western, shopping-heavy side of the district. Real guests score it 8.7/10 from 568 reviews.
Things to know before booking
Being on Nathan Road means it gets busy at peak times — ask for a high floor to keep the street noise down. The rooms run bright and colourful, which is great if that's your taste and less so if you lean classic. Higher room categories and peak dates also fill up fast, so book ahead. Rooms start around $204 a night, with the range running to about $400.
Our take
The Mira works best for couples and anyone who wants a design hotel in the heart of the shopping district. If you value standout design and a proper luxury spa, this is one we'd recommend.
