In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The Deluxe River View rooms run about 38 sqm, and on the fourth floor you draw the curtains to find the Thu Bon River sliding past with the odd small wooden boat. The look leans into Chinese-Vietnamese porcelain — dark timber floors against cream-and-oxblood walls — over a king bed with crisp white linen and a four-option pillow menu. The marble bathroom keeps a separate tub and a rain shower, the amenities are Panpuri, and the minibar is restocked free every day. The balcony is the right size for a morning coffee with the river in front of you.
Food and amenities
RiverTown runs two pools. The main one downstairs is broad and comes with a pool bar; the rooftop infinity pool is the one people book for, its edge cutting cleanly into the Thu Bon at sunset — head up for a Mojito as the orange light spreads across the water. The spa in the main building does a 90-minute couples massage with skilled therapists. The main restaurant lays out a buffet breakfast from 06:30 to 10:00 with pho, banh xeo, fresh fruit, and eggs cooked to order. Trip.com notes the resort has no negative reviews on record, which makes sense once you have stayed.
Location and getting there
The standout is the free shuttle. It runs to the Old Town every hour (the walk is only 10 minutes, about 0.7 km) and out to An Bang Beach four times a day, with return times you can book. Plenty of guests spend the whole day sunbathing at the beach, then come back to swim in the infinity pool. In the evening you can grab one of the resort's free bikes and ride into the Old Town to see the lanterns, stopping for cao lau and picking up a Banh Mi Phuong to eat back on the balcony. Da Nang International Airport is about 28-30 km out.
Things to know before booking
It is not in the Old Town — you are across the river in An Hoi, a short walk or shuttle from the core. Rates climb steeply in high season, so the roughly $66 starting figure is a low-season price rather than what you will pay around Tet or peak summer. And because it is a medium-to-large resort, the pools, breakfast room, and shuttle can feel busy at capacity. None of this is a dealbreaker, but go in knowing the resort trades Old Town immediacy for space, two pools, and free transport.
Our take
RiverTown Hoi An Resort & Spa suits couples and families who want a value-priced riverfront resort and intend to do both the Old Town and An Bang Beach without renting a car. At 9.4/10, with a rooftop infinity pool you should not skip and shuttles that quietly make the whole trip easier, it earns its spot at #3.

The Honest Verdict — pros & what to know
- A luxury 5-star riverfront resort of about 77 rooms (it used to trade as Hoi An River Town Hotel), with the An Hoi quarter putting you a 10-minute walk from the Old Town.
- Two pools, including a rooftop infinity pool whose edge lines up with the Thu Bon River at sunset, backed by a full spa and a gym.
- A genuinely useful free shuttle runs to the Old Town hourly and out to An Bang Beach four times a day, so you can do both town and coast without renting a car or scooter.
- Extras most resorts charge for are free here: a buffet breakfast served 06:30-10:00 and a fleet of bikes you can ride into the Old Town in minutes.
- Two restaurants cover Vietnamese and European plates, and Trip.com notes the resort has no negative reviews on record — which tracks with the 9.4 score.
- It is not inside the Old Town. You are across the river in An Hoi, a 10-minute walk or a short shuttle hop from the lantern-lit core.
- Rates rise sharply in high season — the roughly $66 starting price is a low-season number, not what you will pay around Tet or peak summer.
- This is a medium-to-large resort, so the pools, breakfast room, and shuttle can feel busy when it is running at capacity.

Insider Tips
- Take the free beach shuttle out to An Bang in the morning, then come back for the rooftop infinity pool in the afternoon.
- Ask at booking for a room facing the Thu Bon River or the infinity pool rather than the inland side.
- Time the rooftop pool for sunset with a drink — the infinity edge over the river is the photo everyone comes back with.
