In-Depth Review
Pullman Hanoi sits in Dong Da district, 2.2 km from Hoan Kiem Lake (a 7-minute taxi). It's a 20-floor brown-and-grey contemporary tower that opened in 2006 — older than Hanoi's newer hotels, but well kept. The mid-sized lobby has blue sofas, armchairs, and contemporary art, and the whole feel is business-friendly. This place doesn't sell legend or luxury; it sells Pullman: making travel inspiring — 4.5-star quality at a 4-star price. It pulls a combined 8.6/10 from real guests.
Rooms and decor
The Superior Room runs 32 sqm at around $120 a night, done in contemporary cream, brown, and soft red. You get a King bed at 200×200 cm, a desk, a sofa, a 50-inch TV, and a minibar. The marble bathroom has a rain shower (no jacuzzi tub), a Toto Washlet, and Roger & Gallet toiletries, with windows looking onto the Hanoi streets and Lenin Park. Head down to the Connect Lounge on floor 1 — a co-working space open 24 hours for guests, with 20 work desks, 100 Mbps Wi-Fi, free espresso, tea, light snacks, and a printer. It's built for digital nomads who need to work online.
Food and amenities
Dinner at Mint Restaurant is an international buffet at around $22 a head, covering Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Western, and Indian — good quality and generous portions. The breakfast buffet runs about $15. Le Petit Pullman is the casual French spot — croissants, sandwiches, and coffee from about $3, good for a light breakfast or lunch. The outdoor pool on floor 4 is 20 meters, kept at 28°C, and open 06:00–21:00, with a pool bar serving cocktails.
Location and getting there
The next morning, take the 5-minute walk to Lenin Park, a central Hanoi green space with trees, paths, a small lake, and a statue of Lenin — peaceful, and a magnet for older residents doing tai chi at 06:00. Keep going 15 minutes to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, open 07:30–10:30 with free entry (dress neatly, no shorts), plus the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the One Pillar Pagoda nearby. Back to Hoan Kiem it's a 7-minute taxi for around $2.
Things to know before booking
You're 2.2 km from the Old Quarter, so a 7-minute taxi is part of the routine whenever you want the historic center. The building opened in 2006, so it's older than the newest options in town — well maintained, but not new. And at 4.5-star level, a few service touches sit below the full 5-star hotels. None of it is a dealbreaker at this price, but go in knowing it.
Our take
Pullman Hanoi is the cheapest 4-5-star hotel in our Hanoi group — a Pullman by Accor with a 24-hour Connect Lounge, Accor ALL membership, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum a short walk away. At 8.6/10 from over 2,800 reviews and from $120 a night, the value is hard to beat. We close out our top 10 with a hotel built for business travelers and digital nomads — anyone who needs to work online, collect Accor points, or land a 4-5-star room on a budget.
