The rooms are tastefully done, with sea-view balconies that actually earn the name — wide enough to put out a chair and sip a coffee in the morning. Beds are soft, the room is clean, and the air-con runs cold. For a couple, a standard room is plenty. Bring 3-4 people and it starts to feel tight. A few reviews note that some rooms sit a long walk from the common areas, so if you want convenience, ask for a low floor near the pool.

Food and amenities

The buffet has real variety, and the part reviewers keep praising is the fresh seafood twice a week — grilled fish, shellfish and prawns, laid out generously. Getting seafood at that level inside an Ultra All Inclusive rate is genuinely good value. The free cocktails at the pool bar are a bonus most guests only clock once they arrive. The pool itself is clean and good-looking but mid-sized, so in high season the loungers can fill from early morning — get down before 10am if you don't want to compete for one. The private beach is the better call anyway: cleaner, and the view is more open.

Location and getting there

It sits on the Alanya seafront, closer to the town center than Sunprime C-Lounge, so you don't lean on taxis much if you want to walk out for shopping or a meal. Even on an all-inclusive package, plenty of guests still head into town to try a restaurant on their last night. Alanya Castle and the Cable Car are a cheap taxi ride, and the Red Tower and old harbor are easy to reach. Having a private beach means you skip the trek to crowded public Kleopatra Beach.

Things to know before booking

The pool is mid-sized and packs out when the hotel is full, so loungers and deck space get tight in high season. The beach is sand mixed with rocks, and the water deepens quickly past 3-4 meters from shore — fine for adults, not ideal for small kids. Some reviews also mention noise around the pool and restaurant. One more: the pool bar drinks are covered, but the beach bar may not be, so ask staff first.

Oba Star Hotel is what a well-run all-inclusive looks like — pay once and forget about money for the rest of the trip. It works best for couples and travelers who want everything handled on a 4-star budget: a varied buffet, a private beach, a nice pool, and a price you can reach. The main limits are the small pool when it's busy and the rocky beach that doesn't suit small children. Accept those and it's clearly worth the money.
