In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
Naman Retreat opened in 2015 at the south end of Non Nuoc Beach, and it is the best-designed wellness boutique in Da Nang, the work of the globally known Vietnamese studio Vo Trong Nghia Architects (the practice behind Wind & Water Café and Bamboo Wing). The idea is tropical minimal: bamboo, stone and water, across 137 rooms and villas. They run from a 45 sqm Deluxe Garden Room up to a 250 sqm Beach Pool Villa with a 30 sqm private pool and an outdoor shower. The look is Vietnamese contemporary minimal in beige, white, timber and bamboo green, with handmade teak furniture, cotton linen, a King hand-tufted bed, fast Wi-Fi, a 50-inch Smart TV, a Nespresso machine and a volcanic-stone bathroom. Real guest reviews land at 9.1 or higher on every platform (Trip.com 9.3, Agoda 9.1, Booking 9.2), with most praising the design, the included spa and the butler service, and the only real knock being the distance from the city.
Food and amenities
The heart of Naman is Hay Hay Restaurant, set under a 12-metre bamboo dome by Vo Trong Nghia, serving traditional Vietnamese food from chef Tuyet Truong, with an 8-course tasting menu at VND 1.8 million and a breakfast buffet at VND 750,000 (pho, bun cha, banh xeo, croissants). The Beach Bar sits on the sand with cocktails and a seafood BBQ every Friday and Saturday, and there is a Pool Bar by the Lagoon. The 16-room Pure Spa, also under a bamboo dome, builds 50 minutes of treatment per day into the All-Inclusive package, choosing from Vietnamese massage, hot stone, foot reflexology or a facial, using Comfort Zone (Italy) and Vietnamese herbs. There are 3 pools, a 3,000 sqm Lagoon Pool plus an adult pool and a family pool, a free Kids Club Babylon for ages 4 to 12 with Vietnamese craft sessions, and free yoga and meditation every morning at 06:30 and evening at 17:00, with sound healing on Saturdays. Kayaks and paddle boards are on hand, bike rental is free with a bicycle tour to Hoi An, and a 24-hour butler in every room plus the concierge can set up a private Hoi An lantern-boat trip.
Location and getting there
Naman sits on the south side of Non Nuoc Beach (Hoa Hai), between Da Nang and Hoi An, with 300 metres of private beach. Marble Mountain is an 8-minute drive, the stone-carving village 10 minutes, and Hoi An Ancient Town just 20 minutes, closer than most other Non Nuoc resorts. My Khe beach is 12 minutes, Dragon Bridge and Han Market 15 minutes, and Ba Na Hills 55 minutes. Da Nang airport (DAD) is 14 km away, a 20-minute drive. Naman runs a free shuttle into the city and to Hoi An (every 2 hours, 09:00 to 19:00, returning 21:30); a one-way taxi or Grab runs VND 200,000 to 280,000.
Things to know before booking
First, it is 15 km from the city but only 20 minutes from Hoi An, so Naman suits travellers who want to alternate Hoi An with a wellness resort. If Da Nang city is your main focus, Pullman or Furama, around 5 km closer, are easier picks. Second, Non Nuoc beach turns rough from October to December in storm season, so young children are safer in the Lagoon Pool. Third, the All-Inclusive rate sits about 50% above Standard (it adds the Pure Spa 50 minutes, 3 meals and the minibar); it pays off on a stay of 3 nights or more, since spa treatments normally cost VND 1.2 million each. Fourth, yoga and meditation run on a fixed schedule, morning 06:30, evening 17:00 and sound healing Saturday at 18:00, so wellness regulars should plan around those times.
Our take
Naman Retreat is the most complete pick in Da Nang for honeymooners, wellness travellers and photographers who love tropical-minimal design. You get a wellness boutique designed by Vo Trong Nghia in bamboo, stone and water, the Pure Spa 50-minutes-a-day package, traditional Vietnamese food at Hay Hay under its bamboo dome, a 3,000 sqm Lagoon Pool, a 24-hour butler, and Hoi An a 20-minute drive away, all from around $223. If your trip is a honeymoon, a wellness retreat or a design-led couples or creator escape, this is the sharpest answer in the city. If you want a sprawling resort with a big kids club instead, Hyatt or Sheraton will fit better. Overall we give it 9.2/10, best suited to honeymoons, wellness and design lovers.

The Honest Verdict — pros & what to know
- It is the quietest, most wellness-focused stay in the Non Nuoc area. Free yoga and meditation run every morning at 06:30 and evening at 17:00, with sound healing added on Saturdays.
- Every room comes with a 24-hour butler, and reviews on Trip.com (9.3/10), Agoda (9.1) and Booking (9.2) repeatedly single out how attentive the service is.
- The food holds up across the board. Hay Hay serves a Vietnamese tasting menu by chef Tuyet Truong inside a 12-metre bamboo dome, and the breakfast buffet runs from pho and bun cha to banh xeo and croissants.
- The All-Inclusive Pure Spa package builds in 50 minutes of treatment per person, per day, choosing from Vietnamese herbal massage, hot stone, foot reflexology or a facial, in a 16-room spa using Comfort Zone (Italy) and Vietnamese herbs.
- The architecture is built for photos. Vo Trong Nghia designed the Hay Hay dome and the Pure Spa pavilion in bamboo and volcanic stone, and the Lagoon Pool stretches to 3,000 sqm through the middle of the resort.
- It sits 15 km from central Da Nang, so if your trip is built around the city itself, a place like Pullman or Furama closer in will suit you better. Naman makes more sense if you want to alternate Hoi An, a 20-minute drive away, with a wellness resort.
- Non Nuoc beach gets rough surf from October to December during storm season, so small kids are safer in the calm Lagoon Pool than in the sea during those months.
- The All-Inclusive rate runs roughly 50% above the Standard rate. It pays off on a stay of 3 nights or more, since spa treatments alone are normally worth VND 1.2 million each, but it is poor value for a one-night stop.
