Gostiny Dvor metro is just 300 m away, the Russian Museum a 5-minute walk, the landmark Church of the Savior on Blood about 8 minutes, and the Hermitage and Winter Palace around 12. The Gostiny Dvor mall, the oldest shopping arcade in the city, is 5 minutes on foot. It's an excellent base in a calmer, more atmospheric part of town.

Things to know before booking

This is an apartment, not a hotel, so set expectations accordingly. There's no 24-hour concierge, no restaurant and no spa, and there's no pool either. Check-in hours can be limited, so confirm your arrival time with the hosts before you commit. And because there are only a few rooms, it books up fast, so reserve well ahead, especially during the White Nights season when demand across the city peaks.
