Santa Fe is the cheapest hotel in the resort, themed on Cars and Route 66, where the Pueblo walls glow at night with Lightning McQueen shadows — the trade-off being no air-con, no pool, and the longest walk of the group.

In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The rooms lean into the Cars theme to make kids happy — a Lightning McQueen bedspread with his friends, a bedside lamp shaped like the E327L license plate (McQueen's plate) and warm desert-yellow walls. Any young Cars fan will grin the moment they walk in. They are honestly small and plain, with less design than Cheyenne, but for a 2-star price the theming still lands. The hotel itself is built as a southwestern American Pueblo village, so it has the dusty Radiator Springs feel from the film throughout.
Food and amenities
For food there is La Cantina, a Tex-Mex buffet themed on Route 66, decorated with Route 66 signs against a painted-sky wall — and it is the cheapest buffet in the resort, which saves a lot over a longer trip. The hotel also has a replica drive-in screen showing Route 66 visuals for an American open-air-cinema feel. What it does not have is the bigger reason people hesitate: there is no air-conditioning, only ceiling fans, and no pool. There is also no character dining or regular character meet inside the hotel.
Location and getting there
Santa Fe sits in Marne-la-Vallée, and the catch is distance: it is the longest walk to the park of the group at roughly 18-20 minutes, or about 10 minutes on the free shuttle, with no boat service. Like every hotel in the resort, guests get Extra Magic Time to enter the parks before general opening, so you still keep that on-site perk for the lowest price.
Things to know before booking
This is the most compromised hotel on the list, and it pays to be straight about it. First and most important, there is no air-con — only ceiling fans, so during an increasingly hot European summer the rooms can get stuffy enough to disturb sleep. Second, there is no pool. Third, it is the longest walk to the park at about 18-20 minutes (the shuttle takes around 10). One more thing worth flagging: the glowing wall is a projected shadow show, not real McQueen statues — some reviews get that wrong. All of this is the price you pay for the cheapest room in the resort.
Our take
From reading through plenty of real guest reviews, Hotel Santa Fe fits the most budget-conscious families with a kid who especially loves Cars and who plan to visit when it is not hot — spring or autumn. You get a genuine Disney hotel for the lightest price, a Cars theme kids adore, the pretty glowing walls and a cheap buffet. The trade-offs to accept are no air-con, no pool and a long walk. If those three are too much, a little more budget moves you up to Cheyenne (Toy Story theme and closer) or Sequoia (a pool and walkable to the park), both more comfortable. And if you have a car and want a cabin in the woods with the best pool, look at Davy Crockett Ranch.

- It suits budget-conscious families who want a genuine on-site Disney hotel, especially with a kid who loves Cars — the lowest price here while still keeping that Disney feel.

- Rooms are small and plain, with less design flair than Cheyenne, and there is no character dining or regular character meet-and-greet inside the hotel.

Insider Tips
- Coming in summer (June to August), prepare for the lack of air-con — ask for a ground-floor room, open the windows at night, or choose a hotel with air-con instead.
- Walk the glowing Pueblo walls with the McQueen shadows after dark — they look their best once the sun has set, so get your photos then.
- La Cantina is the cheapest buffet in the resort, so it can save you a lot on food over a longer trip.
- Request a Cars-themed room (the Lightning McQueen design) when you book; with no pool on site, plan any swimming elsewhere if you need it.
