For travelers running in and out of Paris on the TGV, that location is hard to match. Review scores sit at around 8.9/10 on both Booking.com and Agoda, unusually high for a 3-star by a rail station, and rooms start at $131 a night.

The 338 rooms are compact by design, about 17m², but every square metre earns its keep. A king-size XL bed fills the space, the floors are pale laminate, and a glass wall (with a curtain) separates the bathroom, where the shower comfortably fits two. The feature every review mentions is the in-room iPad: it runs the lights, sets their color, opens and closes the blinds, picks a playlist, and controls the temperature. Some guests note the room is smaller than expected but, as one put it, "really cleverly laid out — it never feels cramped."

Location and getting there

From the hotel door to Hall 2 of Gare de Lyon is about 2–3 minutes (200m) on a flat, step-free path. Inside the station you connect to Metro lines 1 and 14 and RER A and D. Line 1 runs straight to the Louvre and Champs-Élysées; line 14 reaches Saint-Lazare in 8 minutes; RER A gets you to La Défense in 20 minutes; and RER D into RER B reaches CDG in roughly 50–60 minutes. Walk the Seine and you are at Notre-Dame in 20–25 minutes.
