Where to stay in Bequia — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
Picture a Caribbean island that tourism never managed to swallow — that's Bequia, an 18-square-kilometre gem in the Grenadines of Saint Vincent that locals still call the island the world forgot to ruin. Its heart is Admiralty Bay, a sheltered harbour where sailing yachts from across the globe drop anchor, fringed by the Belmont Walkway that stitches together restaurants, bars, dive shops and white-sand beaches. There are no high-rises and no mega-resort chains here — just a slow island rhythm, a living tradition of handmade wooden boatbuilding passed down for generations, and people who greet you like an old friend. It's the kind of place you come to genuinely unwind and fall asleep to the sound of the surf.
Why stay in Bequia
A sailor's paradise
Admiralty Bay is one of the Caribbean's classic yacht anchorages — buzzing yet relaxed. Every Easter the Bequia Easter Regatta draws sailors from around the world to race in its waters.
Refreshingly unspoiled
No high-rises, no chain resorts. The island is small enough to explore on foot but lively enough to never feel dull — a balance that's getting rare in today's Caribbean.
Living boatbuilding heritage
Bequians are famed for building wooden boats and intricate model boats. Craftsmen on Front Street still work in the open, a window into the island's seafaring and whaling past.
Clear-water diving & snorkelling
Sites like Devil's Table teem with coral and bright fish, while Princess Margaret and Lower Bay offer easy snorkelling straight off the sand in water clear enough to see the bottom.
