Where to stay in Soufriere — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks
Soufrière is Saint Lucia's original capital, set on the lush southwest coast beneath the twin Piton peaks — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has become the symbol of the whole island. This is where you'll find the world's only drive-in volcano, steaming sulphur mud baths, mineral waterfalls, botanical gardens and the island's oldest cocoa estate. The Piton views from local rooms rank among the most spectacular in the Caribbean, making this small town Saint Lucia's most complete base for exploring.
Why stay in Soufriere
World-class Piton views
The twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and many resorts frame them in full — among the Caribbean's most iconic views.
A drive-in volcano
Sulphur Springs is billed as the world's only drive-in volcano, with a geothermal field of hot sulphur mud and mineral pools you can actually soak in.
Reef diving and snorkeling
Anse Chastanet sits inside the protected Soufrière Marine Management Area, with reef just metres off the beach and over 150 species of fish.
Cocoa and Creole heritage
The Rabot Estate has grown cocoa since 1745 — the island's oldest plantation — alongside Creole cooking and a lively waterfront market.
