Le Morne is a peninsula at the far southwestern tip of Mauritius, dominated by Le Morne Brabant, a 556-metre basalt mountain rising straight out of the sea. A UNESCO World Heritage Site that once sheltered escaped slaves, today its base is wrapped in a shallow turquoise lagoon that ranks among the best kitesurfing spots on Earth and is lined with five-star beachfront resorts. For a Mauritius trip that blends luxury, dramatic nature and world-class watersports in one place, Le Morne delivers.
Why stay in Le Morne

World-class kitesurfing
Steady southeast trade winds blow all day through the southern winter, and the shallow flatwater lagoon suits beginners and pros alike. ION CLUB runs lessons right on the beach.

St. Regis, LUX*, Dinarobin and Paradis Beachcomber sit on the white-sand beach beneath the mountain — ideal for honeymoons and all-inclusive luxury stays.
Lagoon, dolphins and islets
Boat trips chase spinner dolphins, stop at Crystal Rock in the middle of the lagoon, and land on Île aux Bénitiers, a white-sand islet with shallow water all day.
