Where to stay in Byblos — pick the right hotel, book in 3 clicks

Byblos, known to locals as Jbeil, is a small Mediterranean port town about 40 km north of Beirut that punches far above its size. This is one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns on Earth, with traces of settlement going back over 7,000 years and the birthplace of the Phoenician alphabet that shaped our own. Within a few minutes' walk you'll find a Crusader castle, ancient Phoenician temples, a Roman theatre, a cobblestone old souk, and a postcard-perfect fishing harbour all stacked on top of each other. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, Byblos is the rare spot where deep history, a pretty coastline, and fresh-off-the-boat seafood come together in a single trip.
