Kyrgyzstan — find the right stay, from deciding to booking
“Lake Issyk-Kul, the Tien Shan, yurts and a living nomadic culture”
Kyrgyzstan is a land of mountains and grasslands in Central Asia — Lake Issyk-Kul, the world's second-largest mountain lake, the snowy Tien Shan range, Song-Kol Lake amid grazing pastures, Ala-Archa park near the capital, and a living nomadic yurt culture — a country for travelers who want to experience genuine nature and a traditional way of life.

🚆 Getting around Kyrgyzstan
Marshrutka
Minibuses run between towns, cheap but they leave when full and have no clear timetable.
Shared taxis
Share a taxi with other passengers between towns — faster than the bus for about the same fare.
4WD rental
Charter for trips — mountain routes need four-wheel drive, and hiring a local driver is more convenient.
Manas Airport
FRU in Bishkek connects many major cities in Asia and Russia; there are no direct flights from Thailand.
Cable cars
The Ala-Archa cable car climbs the mountain quickly, and the Bishkek cable car offers lovely city views.
🛂 Etiquette & culture in Kyrgyzstan
The yurt way of life
Round felt tents that fold away within the hour, still used for real by nomadic families.

Welcoming guests
Hosts serve tea, butter and kumis as a sign of welcome; if you decline, at least take a taste first.
